“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it” Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It
An inlay of the Blackfoot River, the river featured in Norman Maclean's "A River Runs Though It" decorates this pen. The river crosses 100 plus years of annual ring growth. It is filled with crushed lapis lazuli, a water blue gemstone formed during the earliest of time. The differences in ring widths show the climate, ecology, and history that shaped the last 100 plus years of Montana history. In 2018 the tree was harvested as part of a forest restoration project. See restoration photo below pen photo.
Tree Ring Fountain Pen features one of Germany’s finest semi-flex steel nibs (made by JoWo Berliner). Available in fine, medium, and broad. The pen comes with an ink cartridge, converter, and wood case with forest restoration/tree ring history display card. The first and last year of the tree’s chronology (1800's, 2018) are marked on the pen. It is not possible to add additional years or initials to this pen.
This pen can be made as a rollerball instead of a fountain pen, select option below.
