Tree Ring Co. has partnered with The Longleaf Alliance to bring you the world's first watch made with a longleaf pine wood dial. The tree this watch is crafted from came from the Sandhills of Aiken County SC. Because of the dry sandy soil and the shaded conditions, the tree grew slowly. The longleaf pine ecosystem once covered over 90 million acres of the southeastern United States. By the 1980’s, it was reduced to less than 3 million acres. The Longleaf Alliance is working hard to bring back this incredible species and today the trees cover about 4.7 million acres. A portion ($125) of the proceeds of every longleaf watch sold goes directly to The Longleaf Alliance to further the cause and restore this great tree to a place of prominence in the South. These wood dials are hand selected for their beauty and unique annual tree ring history. Each watch is unique and individually numbered. With over a decade of growth rings displayed on each timepiece, hours, minutes, and seconds are juxtaposed against years. Underneath each wood dial sits a Swiss made quartz movement. Hand crafted in Montana.
