An inlay of the Clark Fork River decorates this pen. The river crosses 100 plus years of annual ring growth. It is filled with crushed lapis lazuli, a water blue gemstone formed during the earliest of time. The differences in ring widths show the climate, ecology, and history that shaped the last 100 plus years of Montana history. In 2018 the tree was harvested as part of a forest restoration project.
The first and last year of the tree’s chronology (late 1800's, 2018) are marked on the pen. It is not possible to add additional years or initials to this pen.
This pen can be made as a rollerball instead or a fountain pen, select option above. Each pen comes with a wood box and information card.
